Analog Farmville

Analog Farmville is what my husband fondly calls our "Garden Table."  Last spring we decided that we wanted to grow our own plants but didn't want to do it strictly in buckets.  Then I remembered a Martha Stewart show where they had made what they called a lettuce table.
We decided to try it, and it was the best decision!

This is where I got the idea from:

Martha Stewart
Her source that inspired it:  (The Experts)

We had to make some adjustments to the size, because we wanted to fit it into the alcove on our patio so it wouldn't take up much room...

We planted Cilantro, Lettuce, Basil and some Zinneas!!!
Seeds were on sale for 25 cents a pouch at Dollar Tree so we stocked up in case we want to grow other crops!

It was raining, so Ben had to cut the wood indoors.

The frame is made and the wire mesh stapled on!

Attaching the legs.

Built!  Now, if only it would stop raining!

Everything is planted, in nice neat little rows!

Our first sprouts!!!

We loved growing lettuce so much, that we dedicated one whole side to it in the end!

  2. This is stupendous - love it! Great work, Ben!!
I wish there were space in our teeny tiny apartment to build an Analogue Farmville box, but I think there's something in the lease that prevents us from using the sawed-off not-balcony for anything. Oh well. Have fun growing awesome stuff!!
